In Memorium

Today was the worst day of my life. Today I received a call from the Missouri police department notifying me that Sean had passed away. As soon as the guy next to me told me that the Missouri police were on the phone, I knew Sean was gone. I couldn't control myself on the phone with the police and I was hysterical. It was a horrible, horrible day. Sean was 34 years old. Although we had not been together for a year and a half, I still spoke to him several times per week. And, seven years of my life were spent with him. I wish so much that he would have been better to himself.

Although we had our bad times, we had many good times together over the course of those years and I hope that he is now at peace.

Madame X

Mags, Marsh, & Jess in the first pic, Dorianne, Me, and Irina in the second pic
All friends and coworkers

An Evening of Sinful Fun at Madame X was the title on the Evite. Amee and I were the hosts for our dear friend Marsha's birthday party at Madame X lounge in the city. We rented the room on the bottom floor and it wasn't enough to hold all of the people - jam packed fun. Marsh looked stunning in her cream suede dress.

Me, Mags, Jess - aren't we cute?
2nd pic - Marsh and her beau - flew in all the way from LA!

Catalina The Bachelorette

Me, Catalina, Sofie and lotsa beverages

So, the neighborhood crew wanted to go out and celebrate for Catalina's bachelorette party. I was invited to go. It ended up being a bit of a fiasco for me due to my job. Things have been pretty rough at work (as you can tell by the bags under my eyes in the picture - again, don't let me rant on the age thing). They were going to dinner, then a strip show. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to make dinner because it was at 7pm. But, I signed up to go to the strip show - damn straight I wouldn't miss that! And, there is no need for anyone to comment on this and tell me that they are all gay because I don't care! Gay or straight, they are still fun to look at. So, I paid my 50$ for the show which is non-refundable. Needless to say it was a horrible day at work as usual and we didn't get done until 9pm. I got home, quickly changed my clothes and took care of the doggies.... I went straight to the city and went to the WRONG club. We originally were going to go to the Copa Cabana but then ended up going to a different place. When I finally got to the other place the show was over and the girls were ready to head back to Jersey City. I did get to participate in some of the partying though at a local tavern "YORK STREET", where the picture was taken. So, it still ended up being a fun night.

Party In Sayreville NJ

Me and Tina - at her house, her party

Me, Anna, Amee

It was my first trip to Sayerville, New Jersey. My friend Tina had a party at her house for her brother's birthday. I met up with Anna (the Blondie), Marsha (not pictured) and Amee at the train station in Newark. We hopped the NJ transit train and were off to somewhere in NJ. I think it is horrible that I live in this state and have NO CLUE where any of the towns are. I can't begin to even tell you where Sayreville is, even though I went there. I can't really tell you what part of Jersey I live in either. I know I live in the east part - that's about it. North, South, Central - no clue. Now NYC - that's a whole other story. I am reasonably sure that it has to do with the fact that I don't own a car, so I don't really venture outside of the "metropolitan" area. And, when I do go out of this area, I am usually on a train and have no sense of which direction I am going except to know what train line I am on and what stop I am supposed to get off at. It is pretty asinine.

So, on another note, the funniest part of the night had to be the "magical" gynocologist. Tina is a Doctor and several of her friends at the party were also doctors. One of the guys there was intensely into magic and kept doing magic tricks all night - he was really good at them and always had a crowd around him. The next day we found out he was a gynocologist and the girls decided he was the magical gynocologist - kind of silly and stupid, but we were hungover and thought it was pretty funny at the time.

Also, I have NO idea why the post has underlined text in blue. I couldn't figure it out. I am starting to feel like each year I am turning into one of those older people who is slowly losing touch with technology. I used to be so adept and intelligent when it came to gadgets but some things just stump me now. ie. - the underlining and blue text above. And all I can think is, why? Why is this happening? I am under the general impression that people must start losing their 'smarts' first with age - well, that, along with vision. Don't even get me started on vision.

It's the End Of the World As We Know It

I know this is a photo blog and I do not have a photo to post. BUT, I just couldn't resist blogging today. I am so completely excited that it is January 6 in New York City (my dog Gizmo's birthday) and here I am in a T-Shirt and Jeans, all the windows open in my apartment, and it's 70 degrees outside. This is probably a sign of the apocalypse or something, but if the world is gonna end for any reason, going out on a day like today wouldn't be half bad!

I called my dad and it is 7 degrees in Salt Lake City. What a strange world we live in.

Year of the Fire Pig

Welcome to 2007, year of the Fire Pig.

It's that time of year again: New Year's resolutions, a nice party, the calendar flips over. I looked back through my blog for this year and I really feel like I had a great time. I met so many new people this year who have become good friends. I am starting to really feel like New York is my home. Funny how it has taken this long.. One would think that, after being here for two and a half years that it should have felt like home much sooner. But, with my job being the way that it is (long hours) and New York being what it is (fast paced and hard to break into), I guess I can understand.

So, although I could not spend New Year's with everyone I love and care about...I still would like to give a toast to all of you. To my family and friends - Best Wishes for a safe, happy and prosperous New Year. May you laugh and love.

And, since this is a PHOTO blog... here is a pic of New Year's Eve with all of my super cool neighbors (courtesy of our photographer Dan).
